CAMPSITE # 16 - Batemans Bay

Today, we found out why it is no where near as fun to go on a road trip in a boring & practical car. We found we were just driving from A to B purely for the sake of getting to B and not the enjoying journey along the way. Just couped up in our little air conditioned bubble and actually travelling at the speed limit, no convenience of having all of our daily necessities just an arms reach away PLUS screw travelling without the convenience of just pulling up in a town to stay the night cause it suits you NO you have to spend 3 god damn hours trying to find a bloody backpackers to pay $57 for them to throw you the key to a soiled, diseased and bed bug infested 13 year old mattress.

We journeyed to the beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters of Jervis Bay. The beaches seemed absolutely untouched and even though it was such a perfect day, there were barely any other beach goers around. The sand made that lovely squeaky clean noise as it fills in the gaps between your toes as you walk along it - always a tell tale sign of a great beach. Even though we were at pure paradise - all I could do was worry about the Troopie... I know worrying isn't going to do us any good but.. I just don't know if we could go on without Charlie. We never planned the trip for just Tom & I, we planned it as Tom, Amy and Charlie and should Charlie pull out altogether well... I wonder what kind of future the trip could really hold?!

As I mentioned, we have had to fork out $57 for one night in a feasty 'cabin' - which is actually a immobile caravan. RIP OFF!! We were lucky to be paying $57 a week for all of our campsites put together in the Troopie... makes you realise how much better value for money we can get when we BYO Troopcarrier.

I miss Charlie :(

Tinjara Falls - en route from Canberra to Jervis Bay

Tommy just couldn't hold it in...

Upon our journey to tonight's destination, Batemans Bay, we have had dozens of people rant and rave about how much "you'll love Bateman's Bay"... so far we haven't seen enough of it to really pass judgement so we have decided - tomorrow we will hire some bicycles (and get out of our little sedan cocoon) and go for a nice long ride to Pebbly Beach.
