The one bad thing about being on the road.. is how completely out of touch you can be from everything that's going on around the world without you even noticing.
We'd been told in passing over the last few days about how wet Queensland is at the moment and how much rain my home town of Brisbane has been inundated with. This afternoon, when we stopped in at a local pub just to use their loo, we came face to face with what's really going on in Brisbane.
To all of our family, friends and to all of Brisbane... my heart goes out to you. I feel so helpless to be away from you all in Victoria and to only be able watch horrific scenes like these online.
Please, stay dry and safe. The most important thing right now is to look after the ones you love. While you may love your home and all of its contents dearly... the safety of yourself and those you love is absolutely paramount.
