CAMPSITE # 152 - Charlies Camping Ground, Coen

We said our goodbyes to civilisation as we headed towards Cape York, the northern-most point of Australia. The only catch was, we had a lot of ground to cover with just ten days left until Jim flew back home, out of Cairns. Our plan was simple, to get to the Cape pronto and then make our way back down seeing the sights along the way.

This meant we were arriving at our halfway point of Coen right on sunset. The next morning, the three of us woke with an opportunity to actually discover the junk of a backyard we had called camp for the night.

Site : Charlies Camping Ground
Rating : 5 / 20
Facilities : Our book must be too out of date as it said gold coin donation but when we arrived we had to fork out $20 for the night unpowered. Flush toilets & hot showers but they were VERY 'outback' facilities. Best word to describe this place? Quirky.

Try and make some sense out of this pile in the middle of the camping grounds...

I assume he uses the pile of junk to rummage through to create these little fellas...

Like I said, quirky.
